We drove to Apache Junction to attend the jam and this is what we saw:

Mazatzal Mountains
(north of A J, between Phoenix & Payson)
We drove through these mountains (highest peak 7900 ft) on our way to Payson & Wilcox about a month ago. That same road, where we saw snow at the highest elevations, was closed during the storm that produced this dramatic scene.
