When we moved from Tucson to Phoenix area we noted that fuel prices were about $.50 a gallon more expensive here (consistently ~$3/gallon). So Bill asked the "Arizona Republic" newspaper if they could investigate; no need to investigate as the topic had already been reported in 2008. Essentially, due to poor air quality in the Phoenix area, the federal government requires Phoenix stations to sell "clean burning gas," or CBG, which costs more.

Hmmmm.... Why wouldn't all gasoline be mandated to be CBG (Clean(er) Burning Gasoline)
