After the exhilaration of "the test" and the ArriveCan completion on Monday, we awoke to 3-4" of snow the next morning - we're not in AZ anymore! It wasn't all bad as it had been very warm the day before so the snow accumulation on the roads was minimal, mostly moisture, and the roads were dry in a short distance.
Organizing for travel was a cool, messy process that started with brushing snow accumulation off the truck and trailer slide (before moving it into the trailer), scraping the truck windows and defrosting the rearview mirrors. Additionally we did have to "winterize" our trailer in preparation for storage (i.e. remove all water from the systems and add antifreeze).
The rest of the day was uneventful - dry roads, minimal winds, quick run through the border, and magnificent views of the snow-capped Rocky Mountains to the west as we drove north! The day ended with a gourmet meal celebration with the best neighbours in the world - Dave & Barb. So nice to have them checking on our place while we were away and, especially, that we were able to sit, eat and chat together indoors at their table after 2 years of Covid restrictions.
Since then we have had a reunion meal with our daughter and family, enjoyed time with the grandboys on Friday and, of course, done laundry!
🙌 All's Well that Ends Well 🙌
It's all Good!
