Cool Temperatures Expected to Persist

We're in a spell of unseasonably cool, dry weather with early morning temperatures in the 40sF/5C range and reaching to late 50sF/mid teensC in the afternoon.

It's been a good Petty* temperature (43) several mornings!

(the upper readings are the outdoor temps)

Richard Lee Petty, nicknamed "The King", is an American former stock car racing driver who raced from 1958 to 1992 in the former NASCAR Grand National and Winston Cup Series, most notably driving the No. 43 Plymouth/Pontiac for Petty Enterprises.

Here's an amusing memory that we have that is related to Richard Petty. Several years ago we were leaving the Unser Racing Museum (a racing competitor family) in Albuquerque, New Mexico, just as "Big AL" Unser and his wife were coming up the steps; he greeted us, introduced himself and Bill responded that he was Bill Petty! Without missing a beat, Al responded "So does he send you any money?!"
